high-field asymmetric waveform ion mobility spectrometry

RF-DC ion mobility spectrometry

Separation of ions at atmospheric pressure between two electrodes due to simultaneous application of a high potential asymmetric waveform, whereby ions migrate towards one of the two electrodes depend- ing on the ratio of the high- to low-field mobility of the ion. A variable compensating DC potential is used to selectively transmit ions of interest.
