Magnetic deflection
Deflection of an ion beam as a result of the motion of the ions in a magnetic field.
Note 1: An example is a magnetic sector.
Note 2: Generally, the direction of deflection of the ions is perpendicular to both the direction of the magnetic field and to that of the ion beam.

Magnetic deflection

The deflection of an ion beam as a result of the motion of the ions in a magnetic field (the magnetic sector). Motion is generally at right angles to the direction of the magnetic field.

The deflection of an ion beam as a result of the motion of the ions in a magnetic field (magnetic sector). Generally the direction of motion of the ions is at right angles to the direction of the magnetic field, and the motion is uniform.
