Chemi-ionization
Ionization of an atom or molecule by interaction with another internally excited atom or molecule.
Note 1: This term is not synonymous with chemical ionization.
Note 2: Chemi-ionization differs from Penning ionization in that chemical change is not excluded.

Chemi-ionization

A process by means of which gaseous molecules are ionized when they interact with other internally excited gaseous molecules or molecular moieties. See also associative ionization. Note that this term is not synonymous with chemical ionization.
