Double-focusing mass spectrometer
A mass spectrometer that uses a magnetic sector for m/z focusing and an electric sector for energy focusing of an ion beam.
Considered between 2004 and 2006 but not included in the 2006 PAC submission

An instrument that uses both direction and velocity focusing so that an ion beam initially diverging and containing ions of different energies is separated into beams according to the mass/charge ratio. The ion beam is measured electrically.
