== [[ASMS Terms and Definitions Poster]] Entry ==
Tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) - Two-stage mass analysis experiment, used to study the chemistry of selected ions or individual components in mixtures.
Note from a reader:???ɂ??Ǩ??ɂ?ɬ????ɂİ?Ǭ?Ǩ I despise "MS/MS spectra" -- Who has ever heard of an MS spectrum (a mass spectrometry spectrum). Prefer "tandem mass spectrum" or better "product-ion spectrum" or "precursor-ion spectrum".???ɂ??Ǩ??ɂ?ɬ????ɂİ?Ǭ?Ǩ How do you handle a "metastable-ion spectrum"--please don't sanction a "metastable spectrum".
